Robert Gray "Ted" Gossett, 80, of Bowling Green, died Friday (June 5, 2009).
An Air Force veteran, he served during the Korean War.
Following his military discharge, he moved to Leavittsburg, where he worked as an operating engineer for
more than 20 years building many of the bridges and roads for the interstate highway system. He then
worked for Lake County Road Department in Upper Lake, Calif., until his retirement in 1990.
Mr. Gossett became a master woodworker in his retirement, creating both furniture and art.
He enjoyed working with his hands, the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spent many hours in his
workshop.
He was a 1946 graduate of Clearlake High School.
Born April 9, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyo., as Robert Owen Gray, he was adopted at age 3 by Edgar C. and Myrtle
Gossett, and they soon moved to Lakeport, Calif. He married Lenore Savelle on Aug. 28, 1952, and she
survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael T. and Robert E., both of Lakeport, Calif.; a daughter, Gail Gossett
Nader, Bowling Green; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Cremation Society of Toledo is handling arrangements.
