Teen injured in accident near Weston
Vincent Bolton, 18, of Weston, was transported to Wood County Hospital by Weston EMS, and later to St.
Vincent Mercy Medical Center, following an injury accident early Wednesday morning.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Bolton was eastbound on Sand Ridge Road, just west of
Wingston Road, at 2:43 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. The report indicates he left the right
side of the road, came back across the roadway, then rolled two to three times before coming to rest on
the north side of the road against a tree.
Bolton was cited for failure to control.
Karaoke for teens at library
Sing your heart out or watch others perform at the Karaoke Night for teens, Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at
the Wood County District Public Library. The event kicks off the teen summer reading program
"Express Yourself!"
Teams vie for ‘Bowling Green Cup’
A vintage baseball game will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wintergarden Park.
The Wood County Infirmary Inmates will host the Carey Cayugas and the Bowling Green Senators in the third
annual "Bowling Green Cup."
Spectators will be able to watch a game played by the 1860s rules. Guests are encouraged to bring their
own chairs.
There is no admission but a donation to the Wood County Historical Museum is appreciated.
Perrysburg provides proper flag disposal
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg American Legion Post No. 28 will hold an American flag disposal ceremony on
Monday, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Schaller Memorial Building, 130 W. Indiana Ave.
Anyone who has an American flag that needs to be properly destroyed may bring it to the ceremony or drop
it off at Perrysburg Way Public Library. Local Boy Scouts will assist the legion members with the
ceremony.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
Fitness Day event lists 2009 winners
The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department, the Wood County Health Department and the BG Chamber
of Commerce recently sponsored the 12th annual National Employee Health and Fitness Day event.
A total of 106 employees of various organizations participated.
Special recognition as given to the local businesses that brought the most participants.
Large Business champion (more than 500 employees) – Wood County Government
Medium Business champion (100 to 499 employees) – City of Bowling Green
Small Business champion (fewer than 100 employees) – Poggemeyer Design Group
These agencies will defend their title again next May 12.
