ODOT hosts public forum on U.S. 24 project

The Ohio Department of Transportation District Two will hold a public meeting for the eastern portion of
the U.S. 24 project in Lucas County. The purpose of the meeting will be for ODOT to inform the general
public about the upcoming project on the new section of highway, from Hertzfeld Road to the connection
with the current Route 24 near Stitt Road.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Anthony Wayne High School, 5967 Finzel Road,
Whitehouse.
Representatives from ODOT will be present to explain the project and answer questions. A formal
presentation will be delivered at the beginning of the meeting.
Once complete, this expansion will alleviate existing safety concerns with truck and residential traffic
along the current two-lane, rural highway. It is also expected to spark additional economic development
throughout the region. Interested citizens, public officials, local businesses and special interest
groups are invited to attend this meeting to receive a description of the project and a preview of the
construction schedule.
