WOODVILLE – Eugene H. Busdiecker, 77, of Woodville, died Sunday (May 31, 2009) at his home.
An Air Force veteran, he served during the Korean War as an aircraft electrician on reciprocating and
early jet engines.
He was co-owner of Woodville Home Service, a family business, retiring in 1990. He also was a private
pilot and had plotted and charted flights to Arizona and Florida.
Mr. Busdiecker was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville, where he served on its committees of
finance, property and maintenance and also worship life. He was a member of Sandusky County YMCA
Development Board, Sandusky County Airport Development Board, Woodville Zoning Board, Woodville American
Legion Post No. 455, Woodville Kiwanis Club, Woodville Civic Club and Portage Valley Flying Club, where
he had also served as its treasurer.
He enjoyed boating and plotting and charting trips to the Tennessee River, Rideau Canal and St. Lawrence
River.
Mr. Busdiecker was a 1950 graduate of Woodville High School.
Born Feb. 15, 1932 in Woodville to Herbert and Elsie (Wott) Busdiecker, he married Mary Lou Niehausmyer
on Dec. 27, 1952 in Woodville. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Wesley, of Monroe Mich.; a daughter, Dawn Rospert, Woodville; a brother,
Walter, Oak Harbor; a sister, Eunice Kruse, of Woodville; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Revs. William Duty and Karl Ribbeck will
officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville. A bereavement luncheon will be offered at the
church.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, Woodville, with
additional visitation beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.
