Reimold 1-for-4 over weekend
BALTIMORE – Former Bowling Green State University standout Nolan Reimold went 1-for-4 with a single and
an RBI in Baltimore’s 6-3 loss to Detroit Saturday.
Reimold did not play in the Orioles’ 3-0 loss to the Tigers Sunday.
For the season, Reimold is batting .267 (16-for-60) with five home runs, 11 RBI and seven runs scored.
Madaras qualifies for state track meet
AMHERST – Pemberville resident Chris Madaras, a member of the Toledo St. John’s boys track and field
team, was part of the Titans’ 3,200 relay team that qualified for the Division I state meet.
The relay team finished third during the Division I regional Thursday at Amherst High School.
Madaras ran the third leg for the team, which finished in a time of 7:53.12. Medina won the race in
7:49.86.
The state meet is this weekend in Columbus.
BG’s Dunning, Hartman wrap up NCAA track regionals
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bowling Green seniors TaKarra Dunning and Whitney Hartman competed in their final event
for the Falcons on Saturday afternoon, taking part in the shot put in the track and field Mideast
Regionals, hosted by the University of Louisville.
Dunning had a best throw of 49-10 to finish 14th among the 43 throwers, while Hartman finished with a
mark of 47-02.25 to finish 30th in the event. Hartman is from Eastwood High School.
BGSU men’s soccer academy set
The Bowling Green State University men’s soccer program will hold its college soccer academy for
college-bound players Aug. 1.
The day-long event, for players in grades 9-12, will be held on the BGSU campus.
The inaugural event is part of a renewed effort to expose the region’s top high-school-aged players to
BGSU and its proud soccer tradition, as well as give participants a first-hand look at the collegiate
environment.
Head coach Eric Nichols, assistant coach Paul Habrecht and other top collegiate coaches from around the
Midwest will provide instruction at the academy, which will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Participants will get the chance to experience what it is like to train in a collegiate environment with
high-level players and college coaches. The academy will include instruction in both team sessions and
11-on-11 settings.
