LEXINGTON – Alexis Levin already is looking forward to next season.
Although the Otsego sophomore didn’t qualify for the state track and field meet, she was happy with her
performance Saturday.
Levin finished seventh in the long jump and eighth in the 200 during the Division II regional at
Lexington High School.
The top eight finishers in each event scored in the regional, with the top four qualifying for next
weekend’s state meet at Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Stadium.
Meet officials even set up an awards podium for the top eight finishers to be recognized after their
event.

"I’m happy I scored in both events, that was my goal coming in," said Levin, who holds the
Otsego record in the long jump. "You always want to win, but the competition here is really good
and this is something I can build on for next year."
Levin also qualified for the regional in the 100 and the 1,600 relay, but didn’t advance to the finals
during the semifinals on Thursday. She also qualified for the regional in the long jump as a freshman,
finishing 12th.

get to state. You know what you need to do."
