Pemberville American Legion Auxiliary
PEMBERVILLE – The May 6 meeting was opened by President Denise Conrad. Chaplain Anne Michel led prayer.

The women’s summer district convention will be June 6 at the legion hall. Chairwomen will be Marilyn
Starkey and Joanne Busdeker. Music director Leslie Meyers will sing the National Anthem accompanied by
Brian Meyers.
Delegates for the state convention in Dayton June 25-29 will be Conrad, Mary Busdeker, Carolyn
Borcherding and Starkey. Alternates: June Baker, Alice Davis, Ruth Haas, Sandy Miesmer and Marti Zeek.

The Great Ohio Bike Adventure (GOBA) will be in Pemberville June 23, when 2,500 to 3,000 people will be
touring through town. Help is needed the day before and day of tour. Call the legion hall at (419)
287-4000 to volunteer. Scheduled work night for GOBA will be June 21, starting at 1 p.m. Zip Lock
sandwich size bags and individual energy drinks are greatly needed.
The theme for Pemberville Free Fair will be "Picture Yourself at the Pemberville Fair." The
auxiliary will again be a silver sponsor, as moved by Marti Zeek. Designated money goes toward the
Kiddie Parade.
On the Memorial Day grave decoration committee were Michel, Joanne Busdeker and 140 Eastwood sixth
graders. The students placed artificial flowers on deceased auxiliary members’ graves at six different
cemeteries.
Joanne Busdeker will resign as craft show chairman as of September 2010. Anyone interested in the job
should contact her or leave a message at the legion hall. Also, Borcherding resigned as chapter
historian.
Starkey served refreshments.
