Phone the North Pole at library
Kids can call the elves at the North Pole with a real connected phone set up by Frontier and Downtown Bowling Green's Holly Days at the Wood County District Public Library.
Talk to one of Santa's helpers anytime between 1 and 5 p.m. either Saturday or Sunday. Visit the Children's Place Winter Castle to make a call, and enjoy other elf activities in the Children's Place.

Homeschoolers at Way library
PERRYSBURG - Way Public Library continues to offer programs specifically for homeschooled boys and girls.
Thumbprint Art is being presented on Dec. 2 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 5-12. Youngsters will design winter scenes using paint and thumbprints.

Book Talk is being presented on Dec. 16 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. The book under discussion will be "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry. This is a story of two young girls and their families during the Holocaust. Students should sign up at the Youth Services Desk where copies of the book are available for check-out.
Race cars in Rossford
ROSSFORD - The inaugural Rossford Pine Car Classic will be held Dec. 14 at the Rossford Community Recreation Center.
Racing begins at noon.
There is a $12 entry fee, which includes a car kit. Kits are available now.
The event supports area Boy Scouts.
