‘Break-It Make-It’ at the libraryYouth, ages 10 and up, are invited to the Children’s Place of
the Wood County District Public Library for another "Break It and Make It with Home Depot" on
Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.This monthly hands-on program and partnership between the Children’s Place and
Team Depot will investigate how different kinds of toys work and what parts make them up.All tools and

author and directorThe Wood County District Public Library will live-stream a webcast conversation
between the author and director of "The Book Thief" on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Programming
Room of the Children’s Place.To celebrate the release of "The Book Thief" motion picture,
Markus Zusak and Brian Percival will come together to discuss the process of bringing this novel to the
big screen.Percival is an award-winning British film director, most recently for the BBC series
"Downton Abbey."Their moderated discussion will include a showing of the trailer and clips
from the movie. The event will be held in New York City at the School of Visual Arts and is organized by
Twentieth Century Fox, Fox 2000 Pictures and Random House; the live streaming is available to schools
and libraries.The novel by Australian author Zusak tells the story of one German family who
clandestinely defies Hitler and Nazism through a series of large and small acts, including hiding a Jew,
which tests their conscience and their courage.Published in 2005, the "The Book Thief" spent
more than 230 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.The book was required summer reading for this
year’s freshman Bowling Green High School Honors English class.The movie opens in theaters on Nov. 15.

Bowling Green Middle School book club, will meet on Nov. 19 at 2:30 p.m. in the school’s media
center."Pizza and Pages" is a partnership between school and Wood County District Public
Library and is open to all area sixth-eighth-graders.The Children’s Place of the Wood County District
Public Library has multiple copies of the pre-selected books.This month, historical fiction and related

registration is open.Upward Basketball is a basketball league for children, grades K-8. It’s an
evangelistic sports ministry designed to promote community outreach and develop volunteer leadership.Go
