Strut down the red carpet at library's fashion show
A fashion show will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Children's Place of the Wood County District Public Library.
Dress as a favorite book character and walk down the red carpet.

NORTH BALTIMORE - A pre-parade party is set at the library here on Saturday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Wolfe Community Room.

Game is on at Fort Meigs
PERRYBURG - Come fight the French and Indian War, Civil War, World War I and space aliens - all in one room - at Fort Meigs on Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Miniature war-gaming experts will help visitor play 20 different games and learn about this family-friendly hobby. The tabletop battles will include historical events and some fantasy and sci-fi games as well. No experience is required and kids of all ages are welcome.
Admission includes the miniature war gaming and the museum. Admission to the event is $5 for adults, $4 for children, and free for Ohio Historical Society members and children ages 5 and under.
War-gaming experts from the Great Lakes Chapter of the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society will guide visitors through different games and teach how to play games at home using plastic soldiers and simple rules. Gaming vendors will be on site to offer miniature soldiers and other gaming products for purchase. Food will also be available for purchase.
Bookaneers read 'Genius'
PERRYSBURG - The book for November's Bookaneers Book Club at the Way Public Library is "Star Jumper: Journal of a Cardboard Genius," by Frank Asch.
Pick up a copy at the Youth Services Desk. The discussion, including crafts, activities and snacks, will be Nov. 14.
The club is geared toward children ages 7-10.
Trick or treat on the boardwalk
OAK HARBOR - Bring the little ones out to Magee Marsh on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. for the fifth annual "BOO! On the Boardwalk."
Geared towards kids aged 3-10, this free family fun event is sponsored by the Ohio Division of Wildlife and the Friends of Magee Marsh.
Come dressed in costume, answer a simple question about Ohio wildlife, and one of the costumed volunteers along the boardwalk, will give you a treat. The boardwalk will be lit up and decorated for the night.
Every child will be given a bag with wildlife information and treats. There will be pumpkin decorating, games, a bat craft, cider and donuts.
Magee Marsh is located at 13229 W. Ohio 2. For questions or further information, call 419-898-0960, ext. 31. In case of heavy rain, the event will be held inside the Sportsmen's Migratory Bird Center at the marsh.
Events for homeschoolers planned at Way Public Library
PERRYSBURG - Way Library will offer programs specifically for homeschooled children.
"Afternoon Adventures: The Pilgrims on the Mayflower" is being presented on Nov. 4 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 5-7. Youngsters will learn about the pilgrims through books and other activities.
"History Hikers: The Inca Civilization" will be held on Nov. 11 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for ages 8-12. This is an interactive program providing information about this ancient group of Mesoamerican people.
"Book Talk" is being presented on Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. The book will be "The Birchbark House" by Louise Erdrich. This is a story of an Ojibwa family and how changing seasons affect their lives. Sign up at the Youth Services Desk where copies of the book are available.
