'Flapper' on stage at Pemberville Opera House
PEMBERVILLE - The Pemberville Opera House presents its fifth children's theater workshop production, "Flapper," featuring 39 children ages 7-15  from the Northwest Ohio area.
This production is under the direction of Angela Patchett, with music under the direction of Donella Wilt.
Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 15 and under.
The Sunday show will be preceded by an ice cream social on the brick street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Roaring Twenties was such a colorful decade that the team of playwright Tim Kelly and musician Bill Francoeur couldn't resist it.
Come celebrate the era and meet Polly Pepper, who's about to turn 18 and will then inherit a diamond necklace. Mobsters are planning to grab the necklace.
Songs include "The Roaring Twenties," "It Has to be Jazz," "Mona's Moaning Low," "Dijja Ever?" and "Flapper."
The Gale and Marlyn Williamson Performing Arts Fund provides funding for the children's programming at the opera house.

Make a play at Bowling Green High School's drama camp
The Bowling Green High School Drama Club is hosting the second annual Theatre C.A.M.P. (Come and Make Plays) for kids ages 6 through 12.
The event is Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bowling Green Performing Arts Center.
Registration is $20 per student, and $17 for additional siblings.
Students should pack a disposable lunch; morning snacks will be provided.
Activities include a theater tour, technical-theater challenge, workshops on character development and stage presence, theater games, prop-making and acting.

Hear about - and see - author's 'Curious Critters'
BERKEY - David FitzSimmons, naturalist, author, and photographer, will be sharing his new children's picture book, "Curious Critters," at the National Center for Nature Photography at Secor Metropark, 10,001 West Central Ave., near Toledo on Friday and Saturday.
The "Curious Critters" photo exhibit opens Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. for gallery reception and a presentation from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
A "Curious Critters" book performance especially for children ages 5 to 8 will be Aug. 4 at 11 a.m.
A book signing and meet the artist reception will be in the gallery Aug. 4 from noon to 2 p.m.
In programs designed specifically for children and families, FitzSimmons will share portions of his picture book.
Friday night's artist's talk will feature brand new images from the "Curious Critters" photography series and stories about how he produced the book that has won five national book awards.
These events are free and open to the public.
