Break It and Make It with Home Depot at the library
Youth, ages 10 and up, are invited to the Children’s Place of the Wood County District Public Library for
another "Break It and Make It with Home Depot" on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.
This monthly hands-on program and partnership between the Children’s Place and Team Depot will
deconstruct, investigate and tinker with various gadgets. This Saturday, each person attending will get
hands-on break-it fun with various "spring cleaning" items. All tools and safety equipment
will be provided.

Funharmonia is Saturday
The Chamber Orchestra of the BG Philharmonia, also known as Funharmonia, will perform a concert for young
people on Saturday.
The performance starts at 11 a.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.
The special program is designed for young children and will feature "Overture to The Light
Cavalry" by Franz von Suppé, "The Fantastic Toy Shop, Suite from the Ballet" by
Gioacchino Rossini/Ottorino Respighi and an excerpt from the "Overture to William Tell" by
Giaocchino Rossini.

Draper joins Pizza and Pages
Award-winning author Sharon Draper will be joining the Wood County District Public Library and Bowling
Green Middle School book group on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the BGMS Media Center.
Pizza and Pages, a monthly book group, will be discussing several of Sharon Draper’s novels, including
"Out of My Mind," "Panic," "Sassy," "Tears of a Tiger,"
"Copper Sun" and "Battle of Jericho."
Multiple copies of these titles are available at the library’s Children’s Place desk. Attendees are asked
to register with Bowling Green Middle School at 419-354-0200.
The Bowling Green State University College of Education and Human Development is partnering with the
library to make Draper’s visit possible.

Looking for nature stewards
Nature stewards are needed to help with work around Wintergarden/St. John’s Nature Preserve, starting
next week.
Come out to the and help to care for and restore the park on Wednesdays, next week, April 9 and 23 and
May 7 and 21, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Students in grades first through fifth will see and learn about the plants and wildlife. Activities
include seed collecting, planting of seeds and transplants, removal of weeds and trail maintenance.
This program may be canceled if inclement weather prevents outdoor activities. Wearing long pants and
sturdy shoes is advised.

Enjoy pizza, pages at Way
PERRYSBURG – Students ages 11-15 are invited to attend a movie showing and discussion of "Ender’s
Game" by Orson Scott Card on March 28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Books are available for check out at the Youth Services Desk. The movie is rated PG-13.
In the book, once again, the Earth is under attack. The survival of humanity depends on a military genius
who can defeat the aliens.

Animal care is everywhere at the Teddy Bear Care Fair
TOLEDO – On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Toledo Zoo celebrates animal care at the Teddy Bear
Care Fair.
Bring a favorite teddy bear or other stuffed buddy to Nature’s Neighborhood for a check-up, or even minor
repairs, from one of the zoo’s own teddy bear care specialists.
There will also be animal demonstrations and keeper talks. Visitors will be able to talk with the people
who care for the zoo’s animals and learn just how they provide the first-rate care that makes the zoo
such a great place for animals.
Planned Pethood will have an adoption station set up for the day in the Museum of Science.
This is also a great time to check out the new Flying Reptiles exhibit at the Zoo’s historic Reptile
House.
See flying lizards, snakes and a life-size replica of Quetzalcoatlus northropi, a pterosaur which stood
as tall as a giraffe and had a wingspan of 35 feet.
Both the Teddy Bear Care Fair and Flying Reptiles exhibit are free with regular Zoo admission. Learn more

Register for Rossford hunt
ROSSFORD – Children can register now for the Rossford Community Recreation Center inaugural Easter egg
hunt. The hunt is for children in fourth grade or younger.
Program forms are available at the center. The egg hunt will be held April 19 at Island View Park.
