Kenzie Arquette (top), 10, uses matches to light a fire during an Introduction to Winter Survival program at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve in Perrysburg on Saturday. The program, for youth ages 10 to 13, showed how to make a winter survival kit, and then go out into the preserve to gain experience in how to act in a cold weather emergency. At bottom, Logan Hill uses a pocket knife to make fire kindling during the survival course.
