BRADNER - Five children have been selected by Albert Bowe Post 338 American Legion as the 2013 Miss Poppy Girls and Master Poppy.
Erica Krawetzke, the daughter of Charles and Anglea Krawetzke, is a fourth-grader in the Lakota School District. She is a 10-year member of the American Legion Junior Auxiliary, and gained her eligibility through her grandfather, Charles Krawetzke Sr. Erica belongs to the Lakota Bitty Runners, Bradner softball and Girl Scouts. She enjoys swimming and camping.
Parris Hagemann, the daughter of Lucas and Jamie Hagemann, is a fifth-grader in the Lakota School District. She is a 10-year member of the junior auxiliary, and gained her eligibility through her grandfather, Lucas Hagemann. She belongs to the Biddy Cheer Club and the Girl Scouts, and is on the honor roll at school. She volunteers at the auxiliary's monthly dinners.
Hailey Beaupre, the daughter of Lucas and Jamie Hagemann, is a fourth-grader in the Lakota School District. She is an eight-year member of the junior auxiliary, and gained her eligibility through her grandfather, Lucas Hagemann. She belongs to the Biddy Cheer Club and the Girl Scouts.
Jade Hathaway, the daughter of Stephanie and Zach Hathaway, is a third-grader in the Elmwood School District. She is a six-year member of the junior auxiliary and gained her eligibility through her grandfather, Robert Stephenson. Jade is a member of the Wood County 4-H Buckeye Buckaroos where she loves riding her horse, and Wayne Little League Softball for five years.
Ethan Hathaway, the son of Stephanie and Zach Hathaway, is a student at Elmwood preschool. He has just joined the American Legion S.A.L. and gained his eligibility through his grandfather, Robert Stephenson. Ethan will be playing T-ball for the Wayne Little League this year. He enjoys riding his bike and camping.
The five children attended the Poppy Shop Open House on April 7 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.  They will be promoting poppies on May 18 at the Wayne First Merit Bank, Friendship Store and the Bradner Post Office from 9 a.m. to noon.  They will attend the Albert Bowe 338 American Legion Memorial Parade May 27.
