Eastwood students selected for Buckeye Boys-Girls state PDF Print E-mail

Nine juniors from Eastwood High School will participated in Buckeye Girls and Boys State to learn more about their government.
The programs are week-long exercises in government where both boys and girls will have the chance to get hands-on experience in participating and doing role play by setting up their own city, county and state governments.
Buckeye Boys State was held June 9-16 at Bowling Green State University.
Michael Glaze is being sponsored by Troy-Webster American Legion Post. Glaze participates on Eastwood's football and wrestling teams. Outside of school he helps clean up the Pemberville baseball fields and works at Rudy's. He is the son of Jen Fry and Joe Glaze.
Evan Deniston and Ben Church were sponsored by the Luckey Legion.
Deniston participates in National Technical Honor Society, and he is the vice president. He also plays on varsity track. Outside of school he is in the Troy Township Fire Explorer program, and is a teen volunteer at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He is the son of Alan and Carol Deniston.
Church participates in track and field; he is a Carpe Diem leader, and a student mentor. Outside of school he is in a church youth group. Ben is the son of Ben and Monica Church.
Buckeye Girls State is going on this week at the University of Mount Union, Alliance. Girls attending from Luckey are Elizabeth Hasenfratz, Jordan Eschedor and Bronté Cunningham.
Hasenfratz  participates in Tri-M, choir, and is involved with Eastwood's musical and plays' backstage staff. Outside of school she enjoys Tae Kwon Do. She is the daughter of Arlene and Micheal Hasenfratz.
Eschedor participates in Art Club, musical, and the Ultimate Frisbee Club. She is also a member of the Equestrian Team. Outside of school, Eschedor models at John Casablanca, and she is also on the Wood County Jr. Fair Board. She is a member of Saddles & Surreys 4-H Club, and she works as a carhop at Sonic and hostess at Tekela's. She is the daughter of Jennifer Post.
At school Cunningham participates in NHS, Tri-M, Teen Institute, musical, and is a sixth grade camp counselor.  Outside of school she is a Toledo Road Runner, and is a future Runners' Camp Counselor. She is the daughter of Hazeann and Christopher Cunningham.
Representing Pemberville American Legion Auxiliary will be Michaela Bunge, Maddie Jackson and Christina David.
Bunge participates in FCA, Student Council, Key Club, softball, and golf. She is the secretary of Junior Executive Council.  Outside of school she attends Bethlehem Church and is a Bible School teacher. She also attends church youth group. Bunge is the daughter of Jerry and Susan Bunge.
Jackson participates in Student Council, Key Club, National Honor Society, Junior Executive Council, indoor  and outdoor track, and cross country. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Jeff Jackson.
David participates in Junior Executive Council, Student Council, Mat Maids, and takes dual enrollment classes. Outside of school David is a U-6 soccer coach, does modeling, baby-sits, participates in 4-H, attends church, and is a carhop at Sonic. She is the daughter of Dana and Charles Haas, and Toa.
