PERRYSBURG - Ahoy mateys! Children ages 7 to 10 who love to read are invited to join the new Bookaneers book club at Way Public Library.
Even kids who just like to read, or think they might enjoy a fun book are welcome, said Kinsey Zeisler, youth services librarian at Way.
She said she's all for kids picking up any reading selection that may spark an interest in books.
"Any kind of book, whether it's a classic like 'Walk Two Moons' or (popular like) 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid,' it's good," Zeisler said.
The first book for the Bookaneers will be "The Magical Ms. Plum" by Bonny Becker. Copies will be available at Way starting Sept. 12, with the discussion set for Oct. 10 from 4 to 5 p.m.
