Austin E. Sweeney, 88, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 28 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born October 28, 1921 in Selma, Ohio to Elizabeth and Wilbur Sweeney, Austin graduated from Selma High School at the age of 16 and was class valedictorian. He served his country in World War II in Europe from 1942 to 1946. He graduated from BGSU in 1950 and joined the faculty at Ada, Ohio High School teaching Math and History. Additionally, he owned and operated a part time barber shop in Columbus Grove, Ohio. After he moved back to Bowling Green he faithfully commuted each Saturday for 37 years to operate the barber shop and enjoy the clientele he came to know.

MILTON CENTER - Roberta "Bertie" Titler, 87, of Milton Center, died Sunday (Aug. 29, 2010). Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. in the Loomis-Hanneman Funeral Home, Weston. Burial will follow in Milton Township Cemetery. www.hannemanfh.com

Mary Jo Kohring, age 76, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on August 26, 2010 at Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green, OH. On March 18, 1934 she was born to Holmes and Gina (Dirk) Lance in Bowling Green, OH. She married Robert Lee Kohring Sr. on December 23, 1952 in Bowling Green, OH and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2010. Mary Jo worked at Eastwood Local School from 1969-1976 and other various schools and businesses as a secretary. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH and Pemberville Freedom American Legion Auxiliary Post #183. Her family was very important to her and in her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with life long friends Surviving Mary Jo are daughters: Diane "Dee" Moyer of Genoa, OH, Kimberly (Tom) Kempf of Lancaster, OH, Lori (David) Laake of Centerville, OH, son: Robert Kohring Jr. of Bowling Green, OH, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Constance "Connie" Carol Strawman, 72 of North County Road 25, Fostoria, died Thursday afternoon (8-26-10) at her home. Connie was born August 25, 1938 in Fostoria City Hospital to Oscar & Mary (Pratt) Saubers. She lived in Risingsun for a short period of time before moving to Fostoria. Connie graduated from Fostoria High School in 1956 and was Valedictorian of her class. In 1960, She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education/Home Economics. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She began her teaching career in the Fostoria Public Schools at Lowell Junior High and taught there for 2 years. Connie married Lawrence A. Strawman September 2, 1961 at the High Street United Methodist Church and he survives in Fostoria. During moves to Toledo, Urbana and Maumee a daughter, Carla Jo, was born on May 15, 1964, and she survives in Sylvania.
