NORTH BALTIMORE - The village has gained an unexpected $6,285.80 for its budget.
During council's meeting Tuesday, guests Robert Van Horn and Marcus Hanna shared a story of the North Baltimore Senior Citizens' Center. Hanna explained the center provides discounted lunches to seniors 60 and over for only $2.
When he was the caretaker for his wife, Hanna said the center gave him time to pick up two balanced meals to take home and just relax for a few minutes. Since that time he has volunteered to help get the meals ready for delivery in town and via the country routes.
"One problem is too many seniors in the village think it's a welfare deal," noted Hanna. "It's anything but that. It's to serve those that want to be served with balanced meals."
