DELAWARE — Bowling Green’s women’s cross country team was ninth in the All-Ohio championships held Friday at Ohio Wesleyan. Ohio State won the meet with 58 points. Bowling Green finished with 236 points. BG’s top five runners were: Carly Wells, 29th, 19:37.5; Ashley Fischer, 36th, 10:48.2; Abby Koch, 49th, 20:00.7; Andrea Pereira de Almeida, 50th, 20:02.7; and Sally Kandie, 72nd, 20:30.9. Pereira de Almeida is a Bowling Green High School graduate. Ball State downs BG women’s soccer MUNCIE, Ind. — Jacki Eft scored midway through the first half to give Ball State a 1-0 win over the Bowling Green State University women’s soccer team Friday afternoon. The Falcons are 4-7-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the Mid-American Conference. BG’s Alexa Arsenault had four saves. Tracy has pinch-hit PHILADELPHIA — Andy Tracy, from Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University, hit a pinch-hit single for Philadelphia Friday in a 7-2 loss to Florida. He’s hitting .571 for the Phillies since his call-up in September. DeVaughn hits 800 series Steve DeVaughn of Genoa, bowling in the American League at Al-Mar Lanes on Wednesday rolled his first career 800 series. He had games of 257, 254 and 279 for an 800 on the nose. His previous high series was 793. BG boys travel basketball tryouts set Tryouts for the boys Bowling Green travel basketball program start Oct. 15 at Bowling Green Middle School from 7-8:45 p.m. Fourth, fifth and sixth grade teams will compete against teams from other school districts in leagues and tournaments.
