Otsego beat Elmwood In Tontogany, Otsego’s volleyball team improved to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in the Suburban Lakes League Tuesday with a 25-12, 25-9, 25-12 win over Elmwood. Eastwood beats Lake In Luckey, Eastwood was a 26-24, 23-25, 25-21, 25-15 over Lake in an SLL match. Lake’s leaders were: Kaysie Brittenham, 13 kills, eight digs, two aces; Rachel Duncan, 20 digs; and McKenzie Whiteman and Katie Everhardt, nine assists each. Perrysburg wins In Perrysburg, the Yellow Jackets were 25-15, 25-16, 25-23 winners over Rossford in a Northern Lakes League match. NB loses In North Baltimore, New Riegel was a 25-13, 25-7, 25-9 winner over the Tigers in a Midland Athletic League match. NB’s leaders were: Megan Grilliot, eight digs; Mackenzie Carpenter, Samantha Trimble, each five assists; and Ciara Hernandez, five kills. BOYS GOLF Northview 160, BGHS 163 At Sylvania Country Club, BG’s scores were: John Rich, 39; Nolan Dill, 40; Kyle Dudley, 41; and Andrew Herringshaw and Pat Halleck, 43. BG and Northview finished 5-2 in NLL dual matches, while Maumee and Anthony Wayne were first at 6-1. Arlington 164, NB 179 At Sycamore Springs, NB’s scores were: Marcello Trevino, 42; Peter Euler, 43; Andrew Peters, 46; and Matt Archer, 48. NB is 11-5, while Arlington is 16-0. GIRLS GOLF Elmwood 216, Perrysburg 217 At White Pines, Elmwood improved to 11-4 overall. Elmwood’s scores were: Karly Haughawout, 50; Jessie Marsh, 53; Katie Day, 54; and Colleen Mathias and LeeAnna Houtz, both 59. Perrysburg’s scores were: Kelsea Newman, 48; Samantha Shook, 52; Liz Andrus, 56; and Kendra Wolf, 61. BOYS CROSS COUNTRY NB finishes ninth In Bettsville, North Baltimore finished ninth with 240 points in the 12-team Old Fort Invitational at H.P. Eells Park. NB’s top five were: Josh Meggitt, 26th, 19:38; Corey North, 47th, 20:29; Andrew Senecal, 49th, 20:35; Jordan Ray, 56h, 21:12; and Phillip Ernsberger, 71st, 21:47. Otsego 15, Kalida 44 Otsego 15, Patrick Henry 46 In Grand Rapids, Otsego swept the top five places at Mary Jane Thurston Park. Otsego’s top five were: Eli Cheney, 18:34; Josh Wazelle, 18:46; Hunter VanHorn, 19:53; Jonathan Fowler, 20:31; and Jeff Hoffman, 20:33. GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY NB girls compete In Bettsville, North Baltimore’s runners in the Old Fort Invitational at H.P. Eells Park were: Amanda Hotaling, 38th, 24:41; Brittany Lee, 75th, 27:28; and Brianna Ferguson, 100th, 32:41. Otsego 15, Kalida 50 Otsego 15, Patrick Henry 50 In Grand Rapids, Kylie Bernthisel was the winner in 22:11 and teammate Leah Wagoner was second in 24:49 to lead Otsego. Completing Otsego’s top five were: Alexis Levin, fourth, 25;18; Peighton Hagemeyer, fifth, 26:53; and Kira Businger, sixth, 27:41. BOYS SOCCER Rossford 4, Springfield 3 In Rossford, Zack Leahy had three goals and one assist and John Lydy added one goal and one assist as the Bulldogs posted an NLL win. James Schumacher had one assist for Rossford, and Andrew McFarland made 10 saves. Perrysburg 2, Southview 1 In Perrysburg, James Roberts and Shane McGee had goals as the Yellow Jackets remained undefeated in the NLL. Shawn Banagis had an assist for the Yellow Jackets, and Jeremy Ashley made three saves. Perrysburg is 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the NLL. Lake 8, Woodmore 0 In Millbury, Bryant Philo had two goals, Drew Metz had a goal and two assists, and Jay Staples had one goal and one assist as Lake improved to 5-2-2 overall. Johnny Eckenrod, Keegan Lucas and Nick Byrd had the other Lake goals. Kyle Timbrook, Nick McCarthy, Tim Metz, Justin Besgrove and Austin Hall each had one assist. Otsego 0, Waite 0, tie In Tontogany, Jacob Stvartak made one save for Otsego. The Knights are 2-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the Northwest Ohio High School Soccer League. GIRLS SOCCER Otsego 5, Start 1 In Tontogany, Kenzie Chalfant and Aimee Whitmer each scored two goals as Otsego posted a non-league win. Kaitlin Amos also had a goal for the Knights, while Hannah Phares had two assists and April Michaelis had one. Start’s only shot was on a penalty kick as Jessica Beaverson and Justine Tolles shared time in goal for the Knights. GIRLS TENNIS Perrysburg 4, Maumee 1 In Maumee, Perrysburg didn’t a lose game in the singles matches as it raised its record to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the NLL. Perrysburg’s winners were April Weaver, Samantha Hayes and Cammy Messenger in singles play; and the doubles team of Megan Roberts and Maddy Karnitis. Junior varsity results BOYS GOLF At Crosswinds, Rossford beat Springfield, 177-193. Rossford’s Travis Jones was medalist with a 39. VOLLEYBALL New Riegel beat North Baltimore in two games. Junior high results EIGHTH GRADE VOLLEYBALL Eastwood defeated Lake, 25-9, 25-16.
