|Webster 1943 grads holds 70th reunion|

PERRYSBURG - The Webster High School Class of 1943 held a 70th anniversary luncheon on Wednesday at the American Table restaurant.
Marcella (Dahms) Duncan offered the table prayer.
Duncan made a carrot cake decorated for the occasion in the class colors of green and white, which was served to those present.
The other seven living members of the original class of 15 are June Phillips Becker, Arlene Beaverson Ferree, Doris Gross Kottke, Marion Layman, Merril Shaffer, Marilyn Emmet Brinker Simon and Evelyn Gross Smith.
The seven deceased classmates are Homer Puse in 1945; James Emmett, 1950; Jane McDowell Layman, 1963; Merlin Brinker, 1965; Russell Gottschalk, 1984; Reed Mayo, 2001; and Mabel Brinker Lemmerbrock, 2011.
There were three members and their spouses attending this year's luncheon: Merril Shaffer and wife Kate, Marion Layman and wife Naomi, and Marcella Duncan and husband Clark.
After a brief business meeting it was decided to have a luncheon next year on the first Wednesday of November. The location will be The China in Bowling Green.
