The following events will take place the week of Dec. 30 - Jan. 5 at the Wood County Senior Center, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green. MONDAY 9 a.m. Class: Get Fit by Video 9-11 a.m. Class: Piano Lessons with Teresa Batterson; $10 for 30 minutes, pre-registered 11:45 a.m. New Year's Eve Party Noon Lunch: Pork Roast or Cube Steak 1 p.m. Wii Bowling 1-4 p.m. Contract Bridge and Euchre TUESDAY New Year's Day - All Sites Closed Noon Lunch: Roast Beek, au gratin potatoes. Advance reservations required by calling 419-353-5661 WEDNESDAY 10:30 a.m. Wii Bowling Noon Lunch: Turkey or Country Fried Steak 12-3 p.m. Computer Help Desk: Appointments required 1-4 p.m. Class: Mah Jongg 1 p.m. Cribbage Interest Group 2 p.m. Grocery Shopping at Meijer, registration required 5:30 p.m. Dinner: Baked Steak, red skin potatoes; reservations due by 2 p.m. THURSDAY 10 a.m. Class: Writer's Group, everyone welcome 11:15 a.m. Program: Smart Goal Setting for the New Year - host Jana Bechstein, Wellness educator/personal trainer, Wood County Hospital Noon Lunch: Shredded Hot Chicken or Sloppy Joe 5:30 p.m. Dinner: Chicken Stir Fry, Riviera Blend Vegetables; reservations needed by 2 p.m. 6 p.m. Yoga Class with Cathy Blatchly; $20 for 8 weeks; sponsored by Sterling House of BG, registration required FRIDAY, JAN. 4 9 a.m. Class: Get Fit by Video 9-11 a.m. Class: Piano Lessons; $10 for 30 minutes, registration required 10 a.m. Watercolor Art Class: Free and open to the public, bring own supplies 10 a.m. Cards: Hand and Foot; host Danilda Lee Noon Lunch: Veal Parmesan or Tune & Noodles 1 p.m. Wii Bowling 1 p.m. Class: Tai Chi, certified instructors: Taoist Tai Chi Society-USA, registration required No person over 60 is denied nutrition services because of failure to contribute all or part of the cost. Participants shall determine what they can contribute. A $2 suggested donation is appreciated for lunches and $4 for dinners. Dinner reservations are needed by 2 p.m. of that day. Caregivers are welcome to attend. It will be held on the third Friday of each month, with the first session slated for Friday, Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, 875 Haskins Road, Bowling Green. The day's events will include: small group activity, physical activity, cognitive stimulation games, music, relaxation and social interaction. Cost: $10, includes lunch, supplies and activities. This event is designed to provide respite for caregivers and community interaction for those with cognitive impairments. A collaboration of the Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc., Wood Lane, First Christian Church, and Bowling Green Manor.
