The 114th Annual Montgomery Alumni Banquet will be held May 24 at Ole Zim's Wagon Shed, 1375 N. Ohio Route 590, Gibsonburg. Anyone who graduated or attended Montgomery School or Montgomery Local School is welcome to attend. Social hour begins at 4:30 p.m. with dinner following at 5:30 p.m. Honored classed will be 1939, 1944, 1949, 1954 and 1959. Reservations are due by May 16, by contacting Mary Jo Wagner at 419-288,2905 or 4347 Portage Road, Wayne, 43466. Cost is $16.
Lunch focus on memory loss
WATERVILLE - The program "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Memory Loss" will be offered May 31 at a 12:30 p.m. Lunch and Learn event at Heartland of Waterville, 8885 Browning Drive.
Lynn Ritter, Ph.D., professional education coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, will explore the changes experienced by someone with memory loss resulting from some type of dementia, and how to understand and support them through this transition.
Ritter has presented at national and local conferences. She bases her program on years of experience working in a long-term care facility that showcased the first Alzheimer Special Care Unit in Northwest Ohio.
The public is welcome to attend this free event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. RSVPs are appreciated at 419-878-8523.
