'Know the 10 Signs' of Alzheimer's at Perrysburg
PERRYSBURG - Every 68 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer's. To help individuals and families recognize the signs of Alzheimer's disease, the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, will host "Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters."
This free community workshop will be held on Feb. 12, a Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kingston Residence of Perrysburg, 333 East Boundary St.
The workshop covers the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and will explain the difference between normal aging and dementia, as well as tips for maintaining brain health. Early diagnosis gives individuals a chance to seek treatment and plan for the future.

Alzheimer's Association hosts Transitions workshop
The Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, will host a "Transitions" program on Feb. 12 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Wood County Senior Center, 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
Transitions focuses on social and educational opportunities and group sharing. Those who are experiencing forgetfulness, mild confusion or difficulty finding the right words are most likely to benefit.

Alzheimer's Assoc. hosts free workshop on safety in home
TOLEDO - The Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, is hosting a free educational workshop, "Safety in the Home" on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alzheimer's Association, 2500 N. Reynolds Road.
Over 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease today. For the persons caring for these individuals, safety is often a primary concern. This workshop will cover an overview of safety in the home, including special safety concerns facing caregivers such as driving, living alone, getting lost, and other issues.
