PEMBERVILLE - Otterbein Portage Valley will hold its annual "State of Otterbein" celebration on Monday at 2 p.m.
This time of year is also when OPV pays tribute to some groups and individuals who make a difference in the community.
Monday's event is the annual State of Otterbein and Partner Recognition Meeting. Jill Hreben, president and CEO of Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices, will be on hand to present updates on the entire Otterbein organization and then help recognize the following people for their commitment to making Otterbein Portage Valley a wonderful place to live and work:
• Partners of the Year: Geri Ricker and Lori Stitely
• Philanthropist of the Year: Miriam Obermyer
• Volunteer of the Year - Community: Jeanne Eaton
• Volunteer of the Year - Resident: Lucille Nuhfer
• Volunteer of the Year - Youth: Eagle Troop No. 332
• Provider of the Year: Tameka Gray, nurse practitioner with Wood County Hospital.
At the same event, OPV is welcoming Dr. Nick Pfleghaar, DO to the Pemberville Family Practice.
Pfleghaar is a Rossford native and Bowling Green State University graduate who has chosen to stay "local" and grow his practice in the east Wood County area.
The Pemberville Family practice is a cooperative effort between Otterbein Portage Valley and Wood County Hospital.  Pfleghaar is also part of the Wood County Family Physicians at the hospital.
His office is on the OPV campus, and he is also the facility's medical director.  This presents the opportunity for the residents of east Wood County to have a family physician close by.
