PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP - Penta Career Center has been recognized with the Community Partnership Award from the Ohio Association of Senior Centers (OASC).
The district was nominated by Denise Niese, executive director of the Wood County Committee on Aging.  She nominated Penta for partnering with the aging network in Wood County on several projects.
For the past several years, Penta's Automotive Technology program has hosted car safety inspections for mature drivers.  In addition, Penta's Culinary Arts program has worked with several senior centers in Wood County to prepare meals and pastries for holidays and monthly birthday celebrations. Other Penta programs have provided services such as manicures and blood pressure screenings to seniors at various special events in Wood County over the past years.
Steve Davis, instructor of automotive technology; Chef Jim Rhegness, instructor of culinary arts; and Ronald Matter, Penta superintendent, attended the March 11 OASC lunch meeting to accept the award on behalf of Penta.
