Wood County Hospital, in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter will host "Living with Alzheimer's," a three-part series for people with Alzheimer's or related dementia being offered on Thursdays in March.
The free program will meet March 6, 13, and 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wood County Hospital Meeting Rooms, 950 W. Wooster St.
The program will focus on the person who has memory changes due to Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. Topics will include memory changes, everyday coping skills, building a support system, and hope. Individuals with early stage memory loss, who are experiencing forgetfulness, mild confusion, or difficulty finding the right words are most likely to benefit from this series.
Family and friends of individuals affected by this disease are also welcome to attend this event.  However, caregivers could benefit more by attending other programs provided by the Alzheimer's Association that are specifically designed to assist those who provide direct care.
To register or for more information, call the Alzheimer's Association at 800-272-3900.
