Walter Fix (left), military veteran from Rossford, and fellow veteran David Atha, of Bowling Green, meet for a private conversation about their shared experience as World War II POWS during lunch at the Wood County Senior Center. The Wood County Committee on Aging facilitated their May 23 meeting in advance of the nation’s Memorial Day observance. Fix and Atha, both 94, were each held as prisoners by the Germans in POW camps in northern Africa.
