Elected officials are signing up to deliver meals around the county

The Wood County Committee on Aging plans to participate in the Meals on Wheels Association’s "March
for Meals" program again this year.
During the week of March 17-21 elected officials from across Wood County will get involved by delivering
hot meals to older adults in the communities in which they serve. Participants are expected to include
everyone from mayors to council members, to trustees, judges and others.
March for Meals is a national campaign aimed at creating awareness of, and ending, senior hunger. Since
1975, the WCCOA has provided seniors throughout the county with the resources they need to maintain
their independence and enjoy this season of life.
March 17-21 is the national "March for Meals" Community Champions week. Most elected officials
will participate on March 19, with some participating on a different day that week. Elected officials
will pick up their meals at one of the six senior centers around the county or – for those delivering in
the city of Bowling Green – at the production kitchen located at 1860 East Gypsy Lane Road at
approximately 11-11:30 a.m. They will then deliver those meals to a specified route in their community.

Elected officials are continuing to sign on.
