Dixieland music and strawberries kick off ‘Music in the Air’ series

PEMBERVILLE – Area retirees are invited to attend a summer afternoon concert as they sip lemonade and eat
old-fashioned strawberry shortcake. The concert and shortcake social will be held at the Otterbein
Portage Valley Senior Lifestyle Community north of Pemberville on Pemberville Road.
The June 19 event is part of the facility’s summer concert series "Music in the Air." The
90-minute concert event will begin at 3 p.m.
Music will be provided by The Glass City Dixieland Band, which has been together for more than 25 years.
There is no charge for this event.

Additional concerts in the series include Susan West on July 24 at noon. West is the owner and director
of the Studio Connection in Bowling Green. Also slated to appear is the Polka Pirates on Aug. 24, as
part of the community’s annual chicken barbecue at noon.
