BGHS Class of 1953 holds 60-year gathering

The Bowling Green High School Class of 1953 celebrated their 60th reunion with a buffet luncheon
at the Bowling Green Country Club on Oct. 23.Classmate Rev. Ned Valentine gave the invocation, remembering
those who could not be with the group on this occasion.A short meeting was held to welcome everyone and
thank all who made monetary donations to the class fund. The class discussed ways to share with others
during the coming holiday season and in the future. In the past four years, the class has sponsored a
veteran on Honor Flight, donated to the BG Food Pantry, and numerous other individuals and organizations in
need.Those attending were Carol Avery Wickard, Richard Bressler, Ruth Ann Hentges, Emil and Nancy George,
Earl and Nancy Main Bilow, Judy Dunn Sanderson, Beverly Kinney Poulson, Tom McLaughlin, Rev. Ned and Elaine
Valentine, Richard Firsdon, Steve and Joan Simmons McEwen, Willis Beck, Bill Favri, Peggy Payne Zimmer,
Richard Deutschman, Roger and Nan Reid Horner, Betty Clarke Palmer, Nancy Lewis Loomis, and Richard and
Carolyn Friess.A group of local Class of 1953 alumni is beginning its fifth year of meeting once a month for
lunch and fellowship. They invite anyone from the BGHS Class of 1953 to join the group whenever they would
like.
