Klopfenstein-90thRuth (Schmitz Graham) Klopfenstein, Bowling Green, will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house and family dinner on Sunday at Heritage Corners.
She was born Sept. 14, 1923 to John and Norine Schmitz in Illinois. She married Richard Graham in 1942 and he died in 1996. In 1997 she married Raye Klopfenstein.
Ruth Klopfenstein started the Girl Scout troop in Tontogany and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She has three daughters, Marian Frobose, Haskins; Joyce Asmus, Bowling Green; and Josephine Schmitz, Albuquerque, N.M.; and one stepson, Raye Klopfenstein, Bowling Green. There are six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
