Leonard Golden, Portage, will celebrate his 90th birthday with a surprise party Saturday at his residence.
He was born Sept. 28, 1923 to Leonard W. Golden Sr. and Waneta Golden in Marshall, Texas. He married Gene M. Wheaton on June 19, 1946 and she died Dec. 9.
Golden worked for Owens Illinois in Perrysburg, retiring in 1985.
He has two sons, John, Inverness, Fla., and Robert, Fort Smith, Ark., and three daughters, Carole, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jennifer, Stansbury Park, Utah, and Deborah, Bowling Green. There are 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
