TONTOGANY - The 76th annual Milton Township School banquet was held April 27 at the Lybarger-Grimm American Legion Hall, with 46 reservations received.
President Norma Wise Wagner welcomed everyone. Gaylord Wagner led the pledge and Bill Garrett gave the invocation. The Swiss steak dinner was served by the legion auxiliary.
Honored at the 2013 banquet were the classes of 1943 and 1953. Present from 1943 were Rosemary Simon Koons, Mae Hefflinger Beckstein and Bob Romaker. Present from the Class of 1953 were Nancy Wilhelm Adler and Paul Chamberlain. They were each presented a carnation.
The oldest members present were Dorothy Haas Heilman and George Beckstein at age 91. They were each given a plant, as was Jim Slater for traveling the farthest. Gaylord Wagner recognized all the veterans who were present.
There were no volunteers to serve as officers for the 2014 banquet, yet it is the desire of many members that the annual event be continued. Any members willing to serve as an officer or to help in any way should contact Norma Wagner or Ruth Garrett.
