WALBRIDGE - St. Jerome Catholic Church's seventh annual Ohio/Mich. 5K run/walk was held in Walbridge on Saturday.  Organizers reported a good turnout of runners and walkers along with the sponsors and race workers to support those in the event. They were thankful for a nice sunny day. All proceeds from this race support St. Kateri Catholic School System and St. Jerome's youth.
The overall winners were Julius Kiptoo for the men with a time of 16:12; and Tammy Bengella with a time of 20:59 to finish first for the females and ninth overall. Both runners are from Toledo.
The Masters division winners were Matt Ridel from Maumee for the men and Lisa Diekman of Martin for the women. Ridel posted a time of 19:22, which was fifth overall; while Diekman's time was 23.37, which was 22nd overall.
