Variety of Bible schools slated throughout July

Many of the area churches will be holding Vacation Bible Schools in July. Those which have provided
information include a variety of themes ranging from the wilderness to weird animals, and from jungle
safaris to spies.
The following programs are planned (listed by starting dates)
• First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green will host Wilderness Escape – a Holy Land Adventure VBS
Sunday through Thursday from 6-8 p.m. each night. Children preschool through those entering fourth grade
are invited to come and hear about the Israelites’ escape from Egypt, visit with Moses, play fun games,
and celebrate through song and art. Families are invited to stay after VBS concludes on Thursday to
watch the community fireworks on the front lawn of the church, 1526 E. Wooster St.

• PERRYSBURG – Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church invites community and area children age 4 through
those who have completed fourth grade to its VBS at the church, 13101 Five Point Road, Perrysburg.
The theme of this year’s program is "Follow the Lamb," and will be held July 7 to 11 from 9 to
11:30 a.m. There will be Bible stories, crafts, games, and snacks. The program is free, but children may
bring offerings which will go to purchase a goat, bees, or hens and chicks for farmers in an African
country.

• NEW ROCHESTER – St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Rochester, will host its community "Mission at the
International Spy Academy" VBS July 13-17 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Advance registration is preferred by calling (419) 287-4731. It will be held at the church, 14545 New
Rochester Road, Pemberville.
The program is open to those potty-trained 3-year-olds up to sixth graders as each is invited " to
become "Truth Agents for the One True God."
• PERRYSBURG – Saint John XXIII Catholic Community will hold its VBS July 15-18 from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Registration is requested by Sunday. The school is open to children Age 4 and older up to and Including
those entering fourth grade this fall. The fee $7 per child or $20 per family.
The theme is "Weird Animals: Where Jesus’ Love is One-of-a-Kind."
• CYGNET – A "Jungle Safari" VBS will be held at Cygnet Faith Untied Methodist Church July
20-24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The program is open to those age 4 though sixth grade. For more information, contact Sue Shank at

• NORTH BALTIMORE – St. Luke’s Lutheran Church has announced this year’s theme for its VBS is
"Jungle Safari: Where Kids Explore the Nature of God." The program begins July 20 at 5 p.m.
and continues daily through July 24. The five-day event will include daily Bible classes, storytime,
crafts, activities, supper at 5:15, music, and puppets. Friends and neighbors are welcome.
The VBS is open to the community. Children (age 4 through those who recently completed sixth grade) may
register when they arrive. The annual "Early Registration Contest" deadline is July 18, when
seven prizes will be awarded in a drawing of registrations received on or before that date.
