Perrysburg Symphony featured at church concert

PERRYSBURG – Zoar Lutheran Church will host the Perrysburg Symphony in a free concert Dec. 13
at 7 p.m.The concert will be held in the church sanctuary, located on the corner of Indiana and Sandusky
Avenues in Perrysburg.It will also feature the Adult Chancel Choir of the church. Under the direction of
Julie Zedlitz, the choir performs for weekly church services and seasonal productions at Zoar.The 36-voice
choir has traveled three times to Europe, singing in Austria, England, the Czech Republic and Sweden.The
Perrysburg Symphony, under the direction of Robert Mirakian, will perform classic favorites, including
"Sleigh Ride" by Leroy Anderson, and "Christmas Festival", a long-standing favorite of
the Boston Pops Orchestra.Mirakian, who also serves as assistant conductor for the Toledo Opera, and the
director of the University of Toledo Symphony.Several pieces on the program will feature the Agape Handbell
Choir of Zoar, and Julie Buzzelli on harp.The handbell group will be playing five octaves of Malmark
handbells.A Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long will conclude the evening.Both the choir and handbell choir of the
church have participated in three European tours and perform regularly for worship services, weddings and
special dramatic productions at Zoar.The concert is part of the church’s community outreach program and
funded by the Zoar Foundation. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Perrysburg Christians United
Food Bank.Seating at the concert will be a first come, first served basis. A shuttle service will be
provided along Fifth Street between Zoar and Toth Elementary parking lots. Handicapped parking is available
in the lot adjacent to the church.Guests are invited to attend a reception of sweets in the Family Life
Center following the concert.The public is invited to attend this event as part of their holiday schedules.
