PERRYSBURG - Zoar Lutheran Church will host the Perrysburg Symphony in a free concert Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
The concert will be held in the church sanctuary, located on the corner of Indiana and Sandusky Avenues in Perrysburg.
It will also feature the Adult Chancel Choir of the church. Under the direction of Julie Zedlitz,  the choir performs for weekly church services and seasonal productions at Zoar.
The 36-voice choir has traveled three times to Europe, singing in Austria, England, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
The Perrysburg Symphony, under the direction of Robert Mirakian, will perform classic favorites, including "Sleigh Ride" by Leroy Anderson, and "Christmas Festival", a long-standing favorite of the Boston Pops Orchestra.
Mirakian, who also serves as assistant conductor for the Toledo Opera, and the director of the University of Toledo Symphony.
Several pieces on the program will feature the Agape Handbell Choir of Zoar, and Julie Buzzelli on harp.
The handbell group will be playing five octaves of Malmark handbells.
A Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long will conclude the evening.
Both the choir and handbell choir of the church have participated in three European tours and perform regularly for worship services, weddings and special dramatic productions at Zoar.
The concert is part of the church's community outreach program and funded by the Zoar Foundation. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Perrysburg Christians United Food Bank.
Seating at the concert will be a first come, first served basis.  A shuttle service will be provided along Fifth Street between Zoar and Toth Elementary parking lots. Handicapped parking is available in the lot adjacent to the church.
Guests are invited to attend a reception of sweets in the Family Life Center following the concert.
The public is invited to attend this event as part of their holiday schedules.
