People of St. Benedict the Moor sought out PDF Print E-mail

TOLEDO - An anniversary celebration is scheduled for Sept. 9, for members and students of the former Saint Benedict the Moor Parish and School.
The celebration will begin with a Mass at 10: 30 a.m. at Saint Martin de Porres Parish (Bancroft at North Detroit) with Bishop Leonard Blair as celebrant, followed by a brunch at the Toledo Club, 235 14th Street, Toledo.
A verbal history of Saint Benedict the Moor Parish and School will be given at the brunch and pictures and news items will be displayed.
The organizing committee for this event consists of former members of Saint Benedict the Moor, current members of Saint Martin dePorres and the Office of Black Catholic Ministries of the Diocese of Toledo.
Any former member or student interested in attending the Mass and brunch, please call Sue French, Diocese of Toledo at (419) 244-6711 or June Boyd at (419) 578-8163.
The committee also asks for help in providing this information to anyone who may have been involved with the parish or school.
