PERRYSBURG - Moonlight & Roses, a dinner, auction, and reverse raffle fundraiser to benefit St. Rose Parish and School was a tremendous success raising almost $70,000 for the parish and school.
About 330 were in attendance at the event held April 13 at The Pinnacle. The evening included gourmet grazing, a live band, oral and silent auctions, and a reverse raffle.
As part of the evening there was a raffle of a diamond necklace donated by J. Foster Jewelers, which was won by Joe and Mary Van Brackel.
The maximum 300 reverse raffle tickets were sold in the weeks leading up to the event. As the numbers were drawn, the owners of the final 10 numbers met and decided to split the $7,500 grand prize evenly. Each of the winners thus earned $750. Those winners were Bridget and Mathew Beredo, Bill and Barbara Jenks, Shane and Bev Wagener, Betty Haas, Randy and Tracy Allison, Bill and Marlene Schrage, Gregg Hipp, Eric and Tracey Petteys, Paul Olsen and George and Missy Namay.

"The purpose of Moonlight and Roses was to gather members of our community to celebrate St. Rose Parish and St. Rose School, and to raise fund for programming and improvements for both the school and parish ministries," said the pastor, Monsignor Marvin Borger.
Borger expressed his thanks to the many event sponsors as well as local businesses, parishioners, and parish organizations who donated items for the oral and silent auctions.
Members of the Knights of Columbus served as the "Gold Sponsor" for the Moonlight & Roses event, and presented a check to St. Rose for $10,000 during the evening's festivities.
