Gospel music at Hosanna Lutheran to benefit its kitchen fundraiser

GRAND RAPIDS – The One Spirit Gospel Quartet, which got its start at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Grand
Rapids, will be performing in concert there on Sunday. The event is being called "The Concert for
the Kitchen."
Hosanna is engaged in a fund drive to raise $20,000. The church want to upgrade their kitchen
capabilities so they can grow their ministry of feeding their neighbors and those in need. To this point
Hosanna has raised $13,518.33 towards that goal. Thrivent, the Lutheran insurance provider, has offered
to match any funds raised before June 30 at the rate of 50 cents for every $1 raised. All monies
collected during the concert will be donated to the fund.
One Spirit got its start when the pastor at Hosanna wanted to do something special for Super Bowl Sunday
about 10 years ago. An Elvis impersonator was brought in to sing Elvis’ gospel songs and a backup group
was needed to properly perform those songs. One Spirit was born. Since that time they have sung
everywhere people will stop and listen. They have performed in almost every denomination of Christian
church in various venues across the county and beyond.
There will also be solo performances by Tim Tiderman, John Renkel, Pastor Adrianne Meier and hopefully a
few surprise guests as well.
The music will start at 4 p.m. and continue until around 6 p.m. The concert will be followed by a pot
luck.
You are welcome to bring something (or not) and still plan to eat – there will be plenty of food.
Hosanna Lutheran church is located at 23019 Kellogg Road.
