Four Bowling Green churches will host a summer hymn sing series titled "When in Our Music God Is Glorified" at 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoons in July and August. Each one-hour event will feature congregational singing accompanied by the pipe organ that resides in each of the sanctuaries.
The first event in the series will be held July 20 at First United Methodist Church, 1506 E. Wooster St., and will feature the hymns of Charles Wesley. Mark Munson will be featured on the organ.
The other churches holding portions of the series, with their hosts, are St. Mark's Lutheran, Kevin McGill on July 27; St. Aloysius Catholic, Neil Kraft on Aug. 3, and First Presbyterian, Ed Duling, on Aug. 10. An ice cream social will take place immediately following the first event. Similar light refreshments and fellowship will take place after each event.
