Matthew Frisbee

Deacon Matthew Frisbee will be ordained as a priest at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535
Collingwood Blvd., Toledo.
He is the only candidate for ordination this year in the Diocese of Toledo.
Frisbee is a graduate of St. Rose School in Perrysburg and Toledo Central Catholic High School. He earned
his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Joseph College Seminary, Chicago and his theology degree
from Mount Saint Mary Seminary, Cincinnati.
His home parish is All Saints Parish, Rossford.
Frisbee says, "The role of a priest is to introduce Jesus to the people. This is not always an easy
task; some people may be skeptical or have hardened hearts. That is why it is so vital that a priest be
a man of deep prayer and also be ‘another Christ’ – that is, a priest must lead the people by example of
imitating Jesus’ life."
He adds, "I also cherish time spent with family and friends."
