MAUMEE - The 2013 Accessible Communities Education Series will present "A Day With Author and Columnist Mark Pinsky" on may 1 at Parkway Place, 2592, Parkway Plaza, Maumee.
The program is designed for community faith leaders of all denominations as well as those interested in creating accessible and welcoming worship opportunities for followers with disabilities.
The deadline for registration is April 24.
Pinsky is an author and longtime religion writer for the Orlando Sentinel and the Los Angeles Times. His opinion editorials also appear in USA Today and the Wall Street Journal.
Registration  begins at 8:30 a.m. Pinsky will speak on "Amazing Gifts: Stories of Faith, Disability and Inclusion" at 9 a.m. The presentation will encourage full participation of people with disabilities in the worship, study, service and leadership of congregations.
Organizers say it is their intent "to create a dialogue among people with disabilities, religious leaders and the larger Northwest Ohio community.
Following lunch, there will be a panel discussion at 1 p.m. The panel will be moderated by David Yonke, journalist, author and editor of Toledo Faith & Values website.
