Rose to entertain at Crop Walk
Local musician Connor Rose will provide live music for this year's Crop Hunger Walk. The annual event will be held Oct. 13, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Bowling Green City Park's Kiwanis Shelter.
Individuals and groups will walk in order to raise money to benefit the international program to end hunger.
The theme is "Ending hunger one step at a time."

Dove Award nominees to appear in McClure concert
McCLURE - Westhope Bible Church will host the group Beyond The Ashes in concert on Oct .12 at 6:30 p.m. The church is located five miles south of McClure on Ohio 65.
Beyond the Ashes is a multi-Dove-nominated group. They are nominated this year for the Inspirational Song of the Year.
The group consists of Anthony Facello, Dustin Doyle, Casey Shepherd and Tyler Vestal.
The public is invited to attend.
A free will offering will be taken.

Life Chain observed in BG
Toledo Area Foundation for Life is sponsoring Life Chain 2013 in accordance with "Respect Life Sunday" this weekend at several Northwest Ohio sites.
One of the sites will be Dayspring Assembly of God, 17360 N. Dixie Highway. Life Chain is a national event. In 2012, more than 1,500 cities and towns held Life Chains, during which people from all denominations came together to pray for the ending of abortion and to stand in prayerful witness alongside our nation's roads.
The Life Chain prayer service will be at Dayspring's Prayer Chapel beginning at 2 p.m. The interdenominational service will be led by Pastor Curtis Miller and Father Jason Kahle. Those who wish can then join in prayerful witness along Ohio Route 25 in front of Dayspring from 3-4 p.m.
• Another program is planned for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1033 Conneaut Ave.

Animal blessings set
• LUCKEY - Zion Lutheran Church, Luckey, will be holding its second annual "Blessing of the Animals" service this Sunday at 4 p.m. at the shelter at Legion Park located at the corner of Broadview Avenue and Park Drive in Luckey.
All pet owners from around the community are welcome to bring their pets or other animals for an individual blessing. After the blessing, there will be refreshments available, along with the chance to have your picture taken with your animal.
Please note that all participants must maintain full control of any animals they bring. Please bring your own chair.
• NEW ROCHESTER - St. Paul Lutheran Church, 14545 New Rochester Road, will hold a pet blessing on Sunday at 5 p.m. The public is invited to bring any pet or animal they wish to be blessed. Food and children's games will follow.
• Maumee Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation, North Dixie Highway, will hold its annual pet blessings as part of its 11 a.m. Sunday program.

Dunbridge 'community day'    to be held Sunday
DUNBRIDGE - Christ's Bible Church in Dunbridge will observe "Dunbridge Community Day" on Sunday. During the 10:30 a.m. worship there will be a concert by Redemption Quartet and a brief history of Dunbridge and the church. At noon there will be a chicken barbecue and potluck meal. The public is invited to attend.

Spaghetti served up
BRADNER - The Bradner United Methodist Women will hold a spaghetti dinner at the church, 128 East St., Bradner, on Oct. 12, starting at 5 p.m.
The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
In addition to the food patrons will be entertained by The Brown P.K's after the dinner. For ticket information call 419-308-9186 or 419-308-7469. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
All proceeds will be used for mission projects of the church.

Steak supper offered
PORTAGE - A "Steak Supper" will be held Oct 13 at noon at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 W Main St, Portage. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children and includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dinner roll, and homemade dessert.

More steak served
McCLURE - The McClure United Methodist Church will have a baked steak supper next Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Carry-outs are available.
A free-will offering will be taken. The church is located on Ohio 65, just south of U.S. Route 6.

Rummage to be sold
MAUMEE - St. Joseph Community Center, 120 W. Broadway, Maumee, in conjunction with St. Joseph's School will hold its annual fall rummage sale on Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon.
On the final day clothing will be $2 per brown paper grocery bag with other items half priced.
Those attending are encouraged to use the back service entrance in the alley off of Allen Street.
