Carnival on Saturday
GRAND RAPIDS - From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday there will be a free carnival at New Life Community Wesleyan Church on the corner of Woodburn Avenue and Second Street in Grand Rapids. There will be games, prizes, food and other activities.
Pre-fair community service
PEMBERVILLE - The congregations of Pemberville will gather for one community worship service at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 in the commercial Tent off of College Avenue, near the pool.
A coffee hour begins at 9 a.m.
The public is invited to attend, and those attending should bring a chair.
Concerts set for
'Truck Stop Ministries'
NORTH BALTIMORE - Truck Stop Ministries, Inc., has announced concerts for August. Each of the concerts is scheduled to be held at the Trucker's Chapel located at Petro Truck Stop. The facility is located at Interstate 75 and Ohio Route 18 in North Baltimore.
The line up includes Jimmy Potridge on Aug. 4; Jericho Road, Aug. 11; Franci Bond is set for Aug. 18; while Testimony Quartet will perform Aug. 25.
Each concert is set to begin at 6 p.m. Those attending should bring their own lawn chair.
Nurse program offered
The Faith Community Health Ministry Program will be offered Aug. 6-9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Toledo Center, 800 S. Detroit Ave.
The group is offering this four-day educational course to prepare nurses and health ministers to deliver wholistic health care to members of a faith community.
Senior CSI event set
PERRYSBURG - CSI, Christian Seniors Interacting, invite all seniors in the area to attend its next meeting to be held Aug. 13 at Abundant Life No. 2, 200 Zoar Drive, Perrysburg. The event is held twice each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a $3 charge for miscellaneous expenses.
The 11:30 a.m. Bible study will be led by Father Herb Weber of Blessed John XXIII Parish. Lunch is served at noon, provided by Perrysburg Commons.
The program which follows will be Better Business Bureau with Kathy Bers.
