Mt. Zion dedication May 5
WAYNE - Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, 7481 Bays Road, Wayne, will dedicate its new Worship Center on May 5.
Rev. Howard Munn will lead the 9:30 a.m. worship. Small groups will meet at 10:45 a.m. A potluck lunch will be held at noon. The church dedication service will be held at 3 p.m. The day's event will close with a dessert reception in the Family Life Center at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend any or all of the events.
Scholarship recital Sunday
At 2:00 p.m. Sunday First Presbyterian Church, Bowling Green, will be holding its annual Orwig Scholarship Recital.
The Orwig Scholarship Fund was originally created using funds from the bequest of Virginia Orwig. The interest from these funds, along with supplemental income raised through dinners and recitals, is used to pay the stipends for the church's Bowling Green State University music student section leaders. This concert features several selections by the Chancel Choir, along with solos from some of the students and members of the congregation.
A freewill offering to benefit the scholarship fund will be received.
The public is invited to attend. A light reception will follow. Those wishing to support this fund, but are unable to attend, may send a check to the church with "Orwig Fund" written on the memo.
Women to lead services at
Bradner and Bloomdale
This Sunday, Bloomdale Trinity and Bradner United Methodist Churches will hold their United Methodist Women Sunday services. The services will be led entirely by ladies of the respective churches and will feature Debra DeHoff, executive director of Serenity Farm Equestrian Center as the guest speaker for the day. DeHoff will share the workings of the farm, located in Luckey, which offers equine assisted therapy and learning services through the use of well-developed programs.
The work that is accomplished with families, teens or children has amazing results when applied to real life scenes.
The service at Bloomdale Trinity, on Ohio Route 18, is at 9 a.m., and is preceded by a fellowship breakfast. Sunday School follows at 10:15 a.m.
The Bradner United Methodist Church service is at 10:30 a.m., at the church located at the corner of East and Lightner Streets in Bradner. A fellowship lunch will follow.
Fundraiser set in Wayne
WAYNE - At 5 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, there will be a "Youth Camp Fundraising Dinner" to raise funds to send teens to Student Life Camp at Cedarville University. Anyone interested in helping the youth earn their way to camp is invited to attend. The youth will be serving dinner and waiting tables. The menu features roast pork, potato casserole, vegetable, salad, beverages, and dessert. The cost is a donation. The church is located at 7481 Bays Road, Wayne.
Community dinner offered
RISINGSUN -¬†St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Risingsun, holds its monthly community dinner Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menus includes meatloaf, parsley potatoes, vegetable, salad bar, pie and beverage for a donation.
The public is invited.
Concert set as fundraiser
HOYTVILLE - HYCO (Hoytville Youth & Community Outreach) will be having a "Love and Praise Concert" fundraiser this Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Hoytville United Methodist Church. Dietsch's ice cream will be served at the HYCO building immediately following the concert.
Edd Van Horn will be serving as the master of ceremonies for the concert.
Performers from the area will be sharing their talents and a free-will offering will be taken for HYCO.
