Dayspring Church, located at 17360 N. Dixie Highway, Bowling Green, is offering events designed to benefit people.
Among the programs is a new leadership course on Wednesday nights designed to help people maximize their influence in the marketplace.
The next course is "Anointed for Business" and begins Wednesday at 7 p.m. It will run each Wednesday through March 26. and will feature some of the area's top Christian marketplace leaders.
Some of the special guest teachers include:
• Jon Jakubowski, President of Affirm Global and founder of Champions in Action
• Greg Spencer - recently identified as one of America's top 30 entrepreneurs under age 30

Cornell Jordan joins Dayspring staff PDF Print E-mail

Dayspring Church, located at 17360 N. Dixie Highway, Bowling Green, has hired of Pastor Cornell Jordan to fill the newly-created position of Executive Pastor of Student Ministries and Missions.
Jordan will oversee all of the age-group ministries of Dayspring and the global and local mission initiatives of the church.
He attended Youngstown State University in pursuit of a pre-law degree, but switched his major to history and political science.
Before accepting the call to full-time ministry, Jordan gained valuable experience in other youth-related fields. Some of the areas in which he has worked include Residential Treatment for Youth, Juvenile Corrections, and Child Protective Services. He believes that these experiences have enabled him to minister more effectively to students and their families. His first ministry opportunity came with The Salvation Army as a youth pastor in Canton.

Soup and salad lunch offered
The congregation of Hope Lutheran Church, 13507 Cloverdale Road, will host a soup and salad luncheon in the fellowship hall Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will benefit  Luther Home of Mercy and the Lutheran Indian Ministries.
The menu includes chicken noodle and ham and bean soups, barbecue beef and ham salad sandwiches, along with a variety of salads and desserts. The public is invited.

Rev. Howard Mayne's sermon Sunday at Cloverdale United Methodist Church will be "A Call to be Authentic."

"Help My Unbelief," will be Pastor Tom Mullins' message Sunday morning at First Baptist Church.

Rev. Brent Pomeroy's sermon Sunday at First Christian Church will be "Immersed in the Spirit."

Pastor Chris Walter's sermon Sunday at First United Methodist Church will be "When the Fasten Your Seat Belt Light Goes On ... Pray."

Diocesan charity began new blog celebrating 100 years PDF Print E-mail

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo kicked off the organization's 100th anniversary celebration in 2014 with a new blog series, "100 Years. 100 Stories." The first post appeared Thursday.
Each Tuesday and Thursday in 2014, a new post will explore the history of Catholic Charities and the impact the organization has had in the community over the past century. Content will include: client videos, past and present photos, client experiences, event highlights and more. The blog debuted on the Catholic Charities' website www.catholiccharitiesnwo.org/100years.
Catholic Charities welcomes the public to join the conversation through social media at its facebook page, CatholicCharities
ToledoDiocese and www.Twitter.com/CharitiesToledo using the hashtag #Charities100.
The organization serves 19 counties in northwest Ohio, including Wood and all its neighboring counties.
