The United Methodists of West Ohio Conference will gather Monday through Wednesday on the shores of Lake Erie for the 2014 Annual West Ohio Conference Session at Lakeside Chautauqua.
The episcopal leader, Gregory V. Palmer, Resident Bishop, Ohio West Area, says, "We will worship and learn together and deliberate in community on our way to making some important decisions that will shape our shared ministry going forward. We will commission and ordain as well celebrate some milestones in ministry. For example you have done a remarkable job with Imagine No Malaria, Connectional Giving and Disaster Response."

In addition to those previously announced, the following Vacation Bible Schools (VBS) will be held
• Running Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. is the VBS for Lemoyne Baptist Church. It will be held at Trailmarker Park, Cherry St, Woodville.
Organizers invite youth grades kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend and learn how to be special agents for the "One True God."
Rapper among Battle of Bands for place in 'Exclaim' festival PDF Print E-mail

PERRYSBURG — Five local Christian bands will be featured next Friday in the “Exclaim Battle of the Bands.”
The event will be held rom 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at Saint John XXIII located in 24250 Dixie Highway in Perrysburg.
Exclaim is the now annual summer music festival. This event will showcase the local bands and allow one of those five to join the national and international groups which have graced the stage at the summer festival.
There is a cover charge of $5. There will also be a raffle items and a 50/50 raffle all as a fundraiser for the main event.
It is not a formal program and the public is invited to come and go as they please throughout the evening.
The schedule indicates the first band to perform will be The Stairwell at 5:15 p.m.

HASKINS - St. Paul Lutheran Church and Haskins Community Church are offering a community "Blessing of the Beasts" service on June 8, at 2 p.m. The service is being held at Lusher Park
Though the churches regularly work together on various projects and services, this is the first time they have offered this community service for animals.
The public is invited to bring their pets on a leash or in a crate and farm animals are welcome to participate.
Organizers say in addition to the blessing the service will be a way to "thank God for his gifts of beasts great and small."

With Memorial Day behind, it's time for Vacation Bible Schools.
Those reported include one focusing on "Kingdom Rock," one on "Discovery Canyon" and one on "Workshop of Wonders."
• Working in order of the events held, Custar Community Vacation Bible School will be June 9-13 at Custar United Methodist Church.
The Workshop of Wonders theme will be used, allowing the participants to "Imagine and Build With God."
Sessions will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The sessions are open to youth ages 3 through sixth grade. Registration can be made by calling Cheryl Nagel at 419-669-3126.
Participants will be able to build items as they grow, work and walk with God.
