Abby Paskvan to perform
WAYNE - Local recording artist Abby Paskvan will perform during the worship at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 17 at Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, 7481 Bays Road, Wayne.
The public is invited to attend.

Benefit dinner set for family victimized by explosion
STONY RIDGE - A Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser to benefit the Jim Richards family will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike, Stony Ridge (corner of U.S. 20 and Ohio 163).
Funds raised will be used for medical and funeral expenses following a home explosion in Stony Ridge on Sept. 17. A freewill donation will be accepted.
Those who cannot attend may send donations to the Richards family fundraiser, St. John's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 279, Stony Ridge, OH 43463.
Supplemental funding will be provided by the Wood County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Pastor Carlton Sielaff's sermon Sunday at Abiding Word Evangelical Lutheran Church will be "Are You Ready? Don't Be Stupid."

"Sharing Our Faith, Part II," will be Pastor Dennis Gugger's sermon Sunday at Bowling Green Alliance Church.

Evangelist Harold Driver's sermon Sunday morning at Bowling Green Church of Christ will be "Only God Knows." The evening service will be "Lasciviousness."

Pastor Kevin Crawford will be speaking on "Transformed for a Mission," part of the "Transformed" series Sunday at Brookside Church.

Session on grief offered
WATERVILLE - First Presbyterian Church of Waterville, in conjunction with Hospice of Northwest Ohio, will be hosting a one time, two-hour session about grief called, "Good Grief: The First Step."
This class provides participants a basic understanding of the experience of grief and loss. The class will be on Nov. 14, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 611 Farnsworth Road, Waterville.
Advance registration is required and can be made by calling Pastor Karen VanderPloeg at the church or for more information at 419-878-2806.
A light dinner will be provided with a $3 donation required for dinner.

Author to speak at Islamic Center PDF Print E-mail

PERRYSBURG - The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo and The Friends of Pakistan are sponsoring a program by Dr. S. Amjad Hussain.
Hussain will be discussing and reading excerpts from his latest book, "With Whom Shall I Talk in the Dead of Night."
The presentation will be held Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Road, Perrysburg.
Coffee, tea and dessert will be served following the program.
The book is a collection of letters written by Hussain following the death of his wife, Dottie. In writing the letters, he confronts his own loss and grief and the anguish of his three children. He writes of frustrations, both items profound and mundane. He also writes of being frustrated by "the clumsy attempts of his friends to console him."
