PERRYSBURG - The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo and The Friends of Pakistan are sponsoring a program by Dr. S. Amjad Hussain.
Hussain will be discussing and reading excerpts from his latest book, "With Whom Shall I Talk in the Dead of Night."
The presentation will be held Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Road, Perrysburg.
Coffee, tea and dessert will be served following the program.
The book is a collection of letters written by Hussain following the death of his wife, Dottie. In writing the letters, he confronts his own loss and grief and the anguish of his three children. He writes of frustrations, both items profound and mundane. He also writes of being frustrated by "the clumsy attempts of his friends to console him."
Finally he starts to come to terms with his life on his own.
He is a graduate of Khyber Medical College in Peshawar, Pakistan, and is a professor emeritus in the Department of Surgery at University of Toledo, College of Medicine. He has written 13 books on a variety of subjects as is a member of the Islamic Center.
The author will be available for a book signing following the program.
The public is invited.
